A: Taxes become delinquent each year on March 17th, unless it falls on a weekend or holiday.

A: Yes, a delinquent tax notice is mailed around the first of April and if not paid a certify delinquent tax notice is mailed about thirty day later.

A: All taxes are due on or before August 31 of each year to keep them from being listed for sale.

A: You may pay your taxes up to 5:00 P.M. of the last business day before the actual date of the tax sale. However there maybe additional cost assessed.

A: The delinquent tax sale can be held after August 31 of each year and after all preparations are made for the sale. We have however for the past several years held the sale on the first Monday in December.

A: All advertised property must be paid by 5 p.m. the Friday before the tax sale date.

A: Yes, You will have one year from the date of sale to redeemed your property by paying the delinquent taxes, penalties, cost and interest.

A: All tax sale properties will be advertised in The Voice of Fairfield County and Winnsboro/Fairfield Country Chronicle (the local papers) three consecutive weeks prior to the tax sale date.

A: No, all delinquent taxes must be paid in full before current taxes are collected.
