Community Development

The Community Development Department is comprised of five divisions:

• Building Division
• Code Enforcement Division
• Grants & Special Projects Division
• Planning & Zoning Division
• Business Registration

Our mission is to provide timely, fair, and professional services in the following areas: Current Planning & Zoning, Comprehensive Planning, Code Enforcement, Building Inspection, administering and securing Grant funding, and providing project management for Community Building projects.

Through hard work in each of these services, we hope to create a safer and more pleasing environment for the citizens of Fairfield County. Our staff is here to assist through the avenues of community awareness and interactions.

Inspection Requests

Please submit your inspection requests to buildinginspections@fairfield.sc.gov. Please make sure that you include your name, address, phone number, type of inspection, and email. The Building Department will reply with a date and time of the inspection. IMPORTANT: Inspection results will be left in the construction box on site, at your front door, or emailed to you.
