Reb is Retiring

The Man! The Myth! The Legend! Friday, November 22nd, 2024 is retirement day for Allan "Reb" Watkins. Reb has worked tirelessly in his role as Building Inspector for Fairfield County and is one of the many great individuals that come together to make the Fairfield County team so special.

Favorite Hobby: Building and Cornhole

Best Part About Your Job: "Being a key player in ensuring that construction projects meet safety standards and building codes. This responsibility is very fulfilling, as inspectors help protect the public by preventing unsafe structures. This job often involves visiting different sites and working on a variety of projects, which keeps the work interesting and dynamic. Inspectors may work on residential, commercial, or industrial buildings, each presenting unique challenges and learning opportunities. Building inspectors need to identify issues and work with contractors and builders to find solutions. This aspect of the job can be intellectually stimulating and rewarding. In summary, the best part of the job often includes ensuring public safety, experiencing a variety of work environments, engaging in problem-solving activities while interacting with my community."
