Fairfield County Student Leadership Summit 2025

On Thursday, April 24th, 2025, Fairfield County, in partnership with the Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce, invited students and staff from Fairfield Central High School, Richard Winn Academy and the Midlands STEM Charter School to the 2nd Annual Fairfield County Student Leadership Summit. The goal of the summit is to show the next generation of future leaders how local government is constructed and works, how County business is conducted, the importance of knowing what is happening in their local government, the careers available in local government and stressed the importance of voting and running for elected offices.
The students participated in a tour of the Fairfield County Government Complex, a welcome by County Administrator Vic Carpenter, presentations from Fairfield County government departments and a mock County Council meeting. Students participated in a mock County Council meeting, with the advisement of County Council representatives, to understand how local governance is carried out.
A special Thank You to Carolina Adventure World for sponsoring the lunch for all participants.
