Your Go-To Guide for Absentee Voting in the 2024 Statewide Primaries & Runoffs

The Fairfield County Voter Registration and Elections Office has published a guide to help you with absentee voting for the 2024 Statewide Primaries & Runoffs on June 11 and June 25.

Key Absentee Voting Information

Who can vote absentee?

Only qualified voters with a specific reason can vote absentee. Common qualifying reasons include having a physical disability, being over 65, or being an overseas citizen or military member.

How to get your application:

You can submit your request for an absentee ballot application as early as January 1 of the election year. Applications can be submitted in person or by mail. When you get your application, you must provide your name, date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security number.

How to complete and return your ballot:

After you receive your absentee ballot, you can either return it by U.S. mail or deliver it in person to the county voter registration office. The deadline to return your application is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31. You must also show a valid Photo ID when returning your ballot in person.

Military and Overseas Citizens:

Special provisions are available for military and overseas citizens. For more information, visit scVOTES.gov or fvap.gov.
