Fairfield County Recognizes National Preparedness Month September 2025

At the September 8th, 2025 Fairfield County Council Meeting, Fairfield County Council issued a Proclamation recognizing September as National Preparedness Month.

National Preparedness Month is observed every September to encourage individuals and communities to be ready for disasters and emergencies. The initiative, spearheaded by the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), focuses on four key actions: knowing your risks, making a family emergency plan, building a disaster supply kit, and getting involved in your community's preparedness efforts. The 2025 theme is "Preparedness Starts at Home," highlighting the foundational steps of readiness.

Fairfield County Emergency Management, Sheriff's Office, EMS, Fire Services and Rescue Squad work tirelessly with multiple emergency response organizations to track incoming severe weather/natural disaster incidences, aid citizens in preparing for inclement events and fosters emergency response to these situations. The men and women of Fairfield County Emergency Management are skilled, knowledgeable, dedicated and committed to taking the steps to ensure the safety of all Fairfield County residents.

Join us in thanking Fairfield County Emergency Management for their continued professionalism and diligence in keeping you and your family safe.
