Fairfield County Recognizes Col. Rudy Crumpton

At the September 8th, 2025 Fairfield County Council meeting, Fairfield County Council recognized and honored Colonel Rudy E. Crumpton, Jr. for his service in the United States Army with a Proclamation.

RECOGNIZING COLONEL RUDY E. CRUMPTON, JR.

DIVISION CHIEF, G-45 – U.S. ARMY 

 

WHEREAS, Colonel Rudy E. Crumpton, Jr. currently serves as the Division Chief for G-45 at U.S. Army Central and Third Army, headquartered at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, SC; and

WHEREAS, in this role, he is responsible for overseeing plans, exercises, policies, and programs within the G-4 Directorate; and

WHEREAS, COL Crumpton is a native of Winnsboro, SC and a proud graduate of Fairfield Central High School and has dedicated more than 31 years of service to the U.S. military; and 

WHEREAS, his career began in June 1994 when he enlisted in the Army Reserve. After commissioning as an Infantry Officer in 1999, he joined the South Carolina Army National Guard; and

WHEREAS, COL Crumpton has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morris College, a Master of Arts degree from Webster University and his military education has awarded him branch qualifications in 11A (Infantry), 42H (Human Resources Officer) and 90A (Logistics); and

WHEREAS, from 2021-2023, he commanded the 105th Transportation Battalion – leading over 800 soldiers. In addition to serving on combat tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and his current contributions to Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve, COL Crumpton has held many leadership and staff positions including Deputy Inspector General, JFHQ-SC, Brigade S-3, 59th Troop Command and Executive Officer, 1052nd Transportation Company. His numerous military awards include Bronze Star, Meritorious and Army Commendation Medals; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that Chairman Clarence Gilbert, District 7, and the members of the Fairfield County Council, would like to recognize COL. RUDY E. CRUMPTON, JR. and express sincere gratitude for your committed service to our country. We are proud to call you our own pray for your continued safety and success.
