Fairfield County Hiring Animal Enforcement Manager

Fairfield County is hiring an Animal Enforcement Manager for Animal Control.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   

  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.

  • Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.

  • Directs the daily activities including investigations of complaints and biting animals. 

  • Provides proper training for Animal Control Officers.  

  • Assists in preparation of the department’s annual budget.

  • Enforces state and local laws regarding animal control. 

  • Assists with animal abuse or neglect cases and may provide court testimony.

  • Assists Director in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for all phases of activities within the department.

  • Ensures compliance of program activities to pertinent codes, regulations and guidelines. Monitors issues related to animal control and care and evaluates their impact and implements policy and procedural improvements.

  • Performs related work as assigned.
