Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
- Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
- Directs and manages the overall operations of the County’s transportation system, ensures that the system operates in an efficient manner.
- Develops goals and objectives for the Department as well operational plans, policies, mid procedures.
- Ensures compliance with all regulations, rules, guidelines, etc. pertaining to public transportation services mid vehicle maintenance.
- Maintains statistical data for analyzing the success of the System.
- Compiles data for and prepares the annual refunding grant application. Directs the administration of such grant. Ensures compliance with. federal, state, and local regulations.
- Prepares implementation plans for bus routes and schedules. Manages route assignments of all buses and bus drivers.
- Monitors mid evaluates all routes and schedules to ensure that they meet the needs of the public.
- Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation, Planning, Business or Public Administration or related discipline.
Six (6) years of transit operations of which two (2) are in a management position or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
