MEETING LOCATION 

All meetings are held in the County Council Chambers, located on the 2nd floor of the Fairfield County Government Complex, 350 Columbia Road, Winnsboro, South Carolina 29180. Click here for a MAP.

MEETING SCHEDULE

The Council shall convene its regular meeting for the transaction of official business on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6:00 PM in the Fairfield County Government Complex unless otherwise specified by Council. 

All meetings shall be open to the public except authorized executive sessions.
           

 

PUBLIC COMMENT/REQUEST TO BE HEARD

Should any individual, group or organization request to be heard upon any matter at a regular meeting of Council, such individual, group or organization must request of the Clerk of Council, at least seven (7) days prior to the date set for the meeting, that the matter be placed on the agenda for the next meeting of Council. Such presentations shall be limited to three (3) minutes for any such individual. Groups or organizations requesting time shall be granted no more than five (5) minutes per spokesperson. Should the individual, group or organization desire to provide written materials to the Council members at the meeting, a copy of any such written materials shall be delivered to the Clerk at the time of the request to be heard. 

All persons who desire to make a comment to the Council (Public Comment) upon any matter within the Council’s jurisdiction for a regular meeting of Council or persons wishing to address Council during (Public Hearings) shall indicate this intention prior to the beginning of the meeting by signing his/her name on a sheet which shall be made available at all regular meetings of Council by the Clerk of Council. The individual wishing to make a comment shall sign his/her name, address, telephone number and the matter on which he/she desires to comment. Comments by any one individual shall be limited to no more than three (3) minutes in total at any meeting. 
 
No matter shall be entered on the agenda or heard by the Council unless it is within the Council’s authority or jurisdiction; provided, the Council may entertain requests that it make recommendations to other governmental bodies, departments or agencies.
