Past Employment Experience relative to public service: With my experience in teaching Machine Tool Technology and Welding for the County and also Midlands Tech Special Schools for new industry I had to interact and communicate with industry management, therefore acquiring a knowledge of what was needed for these companies to locate in the Midlands which helped with my understanding of economic development. I also served as President, Vice President and Treasurer of the Fairfield County Education Association. Selected Fairfield County District Teacher of the Year in 1994 which included serving on the S. C. Teacher Forum Committee for three years.
Volunteer Activities, Community Involvement: Previous coach of football, baseball and softball and board chairman with the Fairfield County Recreation Association; Past Boy Scout leader; Past member of the Winnsboro Mills Fire Department and the Fairfield County Rescue Squad; Active member, Sunday School Teacher and Board member of First Church of the Nazarene; Involved in nine Work and Witness missionary trips to foreign countries.
