Library - Frequently Asked Questions

A: You can register for a card at either the Main Library or the Ridgeway Branch. Adults and children 12 and up must provide name, address, phone number, and some identification. Children under 12 must have a parent present to sign the application form.
 

A: Most items circulate for 2 weeks. Videos and DVD’s circulate for 2 nights. New books in demand and books on school reading lists may be set for 7-day checkout. Items may be renewed at the library, by telephone, or online. There are no overdue fines on most items. Videos and DVD’s have overdue fines of $.50 per day per item with a maximum of $5.00 per item. If an overdue reminder notice is sent, there is a $.50 notice fee.
 

A: You can search the library’s catalog, renew books, place holds on materials, and use library research databases. You will need your library barcode number and a pin number. If you do not know your pin number, please come by the library to get one set up.
 

A: The library provides public access computer workstations at the Main Library and the Ridgeway Branch. Anyone may use a computer; however there is a 30-minute time limit when people are waiting. Both the Main Library and the Ridgeway Branch also offer wireless Internet access.
 

A: Yes. The library’s fax number is 803-635-7715. The cost to receive a fax is $.10 per page. Please ask the sender to clearly mark your name on the fax. The cost to send a fax is $.50 per page for in-state, $1.00 per page for out-of-state, and $2.00 per page for international. There is no charge for faxes to toll free numbers.
